Maa Kushmanda

Maa Kushmanda is known as the source of the universe. She is credited with creating the whole universe with her beautiful smile. So, she is the creator of the universe. She is called ‘Adishakti’ (the initial energy). She is the goddess of creation. She rules the sun god because she provides energy and direction to the sun god and thus is a remover of darkness from our lives and spreads the light of happiness everywhere.

 


Appearance

She is depicted with eight hands. She holds a Chakra (discus), Shula (trident), Gadha (mace), Dhanu (bow), Bana (arrow), Padma (lotus), Mala (rosary), and two aesthetic jars, one filled with blood and the other with elixir (Amrutha). She is mounted on a lion.

Significance

People related to the field of creativity should worship her to get success in this field. They can be any writer, poet, architect, designer, etc.  The goddess bestows good wealth, health, and strength to her devotees. She always offers bliss and comfort to her devotees. If you are facing miscarriages, you should offer it to her to get her blessings. Offer 108 green cardamoms to her and recite one mantra after offering one by one, keep it as a Prasad and have it before doing any creative work. It will enhance your creativity.

How to worship Maa Kushmanda

  •  She should be offered cardamom and fenugreek, curd and porridge, sweet cake (malpua).
  • Wear green clothes on this day.
  • She loves red color. So, red flowers should be offered to her in the Puja.
